Drinking before and after meals
Hi there! You are doing so awesome! Well, at the meetings they have discussed this issue and most of them set alarms to know when to start and stop drinking. So I decided to try this. It seems to be pretty effective. If you eat something, when you are done set your alarm ( like on your phone) for 1 hour later. Thats when you can drink. Then when you know when you are going to eat again, set your alarm for 30 minutes before you want to eat. Thats so you stop drinking then. I will find that if I don't set alarms, I will end up waiting too long to drink after eating and then I don't drink enough that day. Good luck and I hope it helps!! Eldy
I think this is one of the hardest things I've had to get used to.
Generally, until I got into a routine, I used my family to help remind me not to drink anything for 1/2 hour before or 30 minutes after.
I make sure I put any liquids out of arms' reach and try to get busy doing something else to keep my mind off it.
When at a restaurant I don't allow the wait staff to bring me ice water. This way I have nothing to reach for.
I'm a year out now and it's still tough but I have to do it...so I do.
Good luck to ya!
Jules

Rhody,
Unlike Kim, I can't stand your new avatar!! ~smiles and winks~
But back to the topic at hand: I know I will have this problem. I ALWAYS have something to drink so having to stop it for the meals means I'll stop it all together. I'm going to try the alarm on my phone/computer for help.
Congrats on your 51.3 pounds gone! A few more and that's the size of my dog...Can you imagine carrying that weight around again?
