Anyone else get told 3 different times to show up for surgery on their surgrey date a t Roger...

If it isn't nerve wrecking enough to be on all liquids and the day before surgery, what is even more confusing that prior to my pre-op testing day Dr. Pohl's office told me that my procedure would be at 11 and I needed to be at Roger Williams Hospital by 9 a.m.  Then I went for pre-op testing and they told me the procedure would be at 11 and I was to be at the hospital by 9:30 a.m.  I just got my pre-op call from Roger Williams and they now tell me to be there by 10 a.m.  Has anyone else had this experience.  I'm of a mind to show up at 9 a.m. even though that's an hour earlier than what they told me on the phone today because I don't want to be late.....and have my surgery postponed.

I'm sure it wouldn't hurt anything to show a little early, just to be sure.

I had my band done at Miriam, and was scheduled to go in at 11:00am with surgery @ 1:00pm but was called around 8:15am the day of and asked to come in at 10:00am.

I was thrilled, the sooner the better

Best of luck on your big day tomorrow!!!!

Hi Terri !  Yeah that can be aggrevating.  I have heard of them changing like that.  I think its due to cancellations and all.  But I think I would probably show up at 9;00 too.  Just to be on the safe side.  You never know if the left hand knows what the right hand is doing.  No matter how advanced and up to date a place is, there is always a possibility of a communication problem somewhere.  Go figure.   Everything will work out in the end.  Good luck!   Eldy

Yes, I had pretty much made that decision to show up at 9 a.m. and if need be just play dumb LOL....better that way than showing up LATE, God forbid.  Thanks for the well wishes.

The time changes a lot.   last month when my husband Chip has his done we 1st had a time of  930am then when they called it said 9am.  Then the morning of the surgery they call us and told us to come in now.  That was at 730 am .  He got there for 9am and they didn't take him in until 1015am .  So it can get crazy.  Sometimes they give Dr. Phol two rooms .  This why they keep up with surgery times.   One room being cleaned for next surgery while he is doing another in the other room. .     zGood Luck
