Looking for an angel.

Hi fellow Rhode Islanders!

I'm officially 16 days away from RnY with Dr. Pohl.  The realization of what I am about to do is setting in and I'm getting pretty scared.  I would love if someone would be my angel and hold me hand through this.  I went to my first support group the other night and had all intentions of asking someone but then chickened out.  Thank God for OH!  Marcia

i am here... dont know how well i will be as an angel, seeing this is all very new to me.., i am working on getting my "journal" blogged...it is from the beginning of the decision to present... i hope it will help you,  just give me a a day or 2, i just finished writing it out...lol

It was great to see you at the meeting!

Looks like you have a lot of wonderful support here! OH is a place where Angels reside, that's for certain.

There is no rush in choosing an Angel. Even though your surgery is scheduled for the 10th.

You can also have MORE than one Angel if you want different perspectives.

I, personally, take the job of being an Angel a few steps further than just posting updates on OH.

I believe, when choosing an Angel, it's a good idea to choose someone who has already gone through what you are going through.

Someone you look at and can truly say 'I want what she/he has'!

Someone you are comfortable with to call any time (whether you need to or not).

Someone who will call you out on the carpet if you're in denial.

Someone who will guide you in the right direction with your weightloss, exercise & eating routines and the emotional changes you will DEFINITELY go through.

There's another meeting on Thursday (tomorrow night) at Roger Williams. Then a meeting on Wednesday, June 3rd at Rhode Island Hospital.

Two more opportunities to ask someone to be your angel!
