Hello All,
Just wanted to update everyone and hopefully save someone from the same experience...

I had lapband surgery on 5/12 and discharged 5/13.  On the 14th, I was experiencing more pain and discomfort than the previous day so I spent a lot of the day sleeping.  By the next ;morining, I bacame nauseous and lightheaded and was so petrified to vomit, I was not drinking fluids.  When my husband called to check up on me, he later told me that I wasn't myself, not aswering questions as I should, etc.  My sister showed up and called Dr. Pohl's office who said to go to the ER as it sounded like I wasn't getting enough fluids.  Long story short, spent 6 hours in the ER and had 2 bags of fluid pumped into me prior to Dr. Pohl giving me the OK to go home with some anit-nausea meds.  Needless to say, I am spending today with a water bottle attached to me at all times!!

Hopefully this is a small bump in the road on this journey to better health.  To those that say surgery is the "easy way out," they have no idea....

Hi Kim,

Thanks for posting this.  It just reminded me  how important it is for me to stay hydrated no matter what after surgery. (June 10, btw).  I hope you're feeling better!  Marcia
