I went to Dr. Pohl/Giovanni's seminar on Wedneday night.  I absolutely LOVE Dr. Pohl. He's funny and questions were answered in great detail and with so much compassion.  I spoke with Dr. G after the seminar to discuss some of my issues and I have to say, She is one sweet lady!

I called my insurance again today, just to confirm coverage and then made the phone call to Dr. P & G's office.  I see Dr. G on June 8!!  I'm excited and scared and excited and...well, excited!!

I have started a high protein diet and have started eliminating some of my trigger foods.  Hubby is helping with not purchasing said trigger foods.  I have realized over the last 2 weeks on this protein diet; I don't crave those trigger foods much anymore.  If I see someone having something, I may think about it but it's not that "I've got to have that NOW!" feelings.
I've lost 4 pounds and when I spoke with Dr. G she congratulated me but also told me to slow that down until I see her since they take my weigh in weight at the first appointment to submit to the insurance company.  Then I can lose all I want!!  Funny to be told to NOT lose weight, yanno?

I'm reading everything I can get my hands on and hubby and I are discussing my need of MUCH smaller portions and actually not being able to eat what he eats for a good 6-8 weeks after the surgery.  We decided I can sit there and sip water and chat with him (since our schedules will be off)

Just a little update.  Oh, and I have to have microdiscotomy surgery on my back on May 27th.  Small incision, no blood but hopefully pain relief of my sciatica.  Prayers are always welcome!

Take care and keep being losers!!  ~smiles~

you know, Kelly Jo, you could show a little enthusiasum!!  LOL    I'm glad you enjoyed the seminar.  It really is imformative.  I just didn't realize how long it was when I went.   yeah you have to be careful about losing weight before you see her,  if your weight is too low the insurance company will not cover it.   There are specific guidelines they have to follow.  I would hate for you to lose out because you were trying to do the right thing.   I had Dr. G and I love her.  She really understands the overweight person.  She comes from a big Italian family and have issues in her own family.   I found her easy to talk to.  And when it comes to the office staff, my advice is to kill them with kindness.  They can be on the cold side sometimes but remember how many patients they have to keep up with and the phone calls they receive all the time.  So if you are really nice and easy to work with, that will go a long way for them.   Just so you know.   Good luck with everything and keep us updated, ok?  Feel free to PM me anytime.   Eldy

Eldy,
When I called the office to schedule the appointment, the gal was rather abrupt and short until I was answer all her questions and then said "and a partridge in a pear tree!"
She laughed and said that she hasn't laughed at all today.  She also said that she has a feeling that I'm going to be making some people laugh.

What is it they say....fat people are always jolly!

Thanks ...and I just might take you up on the offer to PM!
Have a great weekend!
