Support Groups

This question is for anyone that can answer...

I've seen several messages about support groups-Jules mentioned a couple.

How do us 'newbies' locate these support groups?  Are they just for the 'losers' or can anyone attend?

I'm planning to go to the WLS seminar with Dr. Pohl's group next week but I'm not sure where to locate the support groups.

Thanks for your help!

I can only report I've been to only 1 support group at Roger Williams Hospital and it was great very informative and this support group is for everyone, you can ask questions, concerns you have.  Let me know when the next one is I plan on attending...

Hope to see you at the next meeting.

Thanks Chris!

I'll see if I can find anything out on their website and maybe we'll finally meet!

Take care,

Hey Kelly!

Send me an email to the address below. I will email all the RI support groups to you.

We are ALL welcome to attend ALL the support groups! In fact, I strongly encourage you to go to as many meetings as you can prior to your surgery so you can get a better perspective on what to look forward to.

You can also bring your own support team (whether it be family or friend(s)) with you to the groups!

When you go to Dr. Pohl's and Dr. Giovanni's seminar next week, be sure to get there early. Sometimes there is standing room only if you you get there too late. Bring a pen and paper for notes and make sure you stay for the full 3 - 3 1/2 hours so you can sign the attendance sheet at the end of the seminar. There's also a GREAT Q&A section at the end of the seminar...so...if you have any questions, write them down and bring them along with you!

I'm happy to see you seeking this option!

Have a great day!

Jules,

Email Sent!

Thanks for the info about Dr. Pohl's seminar.  I'll be there bright and early with bells on!  Well, I'll leave the bells at home this time, I guess.
