Im a little disappointed that Im still not feeling the restriction, I had the surgery 12/30/08.   I know someone that I work with that can barely eat with 1 mil.   She has an older band and I wonder if its hold less.    Does anyone have a similiar experience?  At what point did you feel full?

Hey there,

I didn't have the band but I've heard a lot of bandsters say they don't feel restriction until their third or fourth fill. It's different for everyone.

I hope you reach your sweet spot soon!

Meanwhile, do your best to stick to your eating program and hit as many support groups (including the Living Life Group on Wednesday, May20th) and come on here as often as you can!

Have you gone to the OH Lapband board?  It's the other board I frequent, and I've learned TONS there while I wait until my surgery.  Jules is right - 3+ fils is the norm, depending upon how agressive your surgeon is with the fills.  There are some people who are still seeking restriction after 6+ fills.

I'm a 6+ fill person still not there yet.  It takes time and patience.  It is REALLY easy in this stage to get frustrated (I'm always whining- lol).  The key is to use this time to develop the right eating habits- not figure out how much can you eat- but really measure out what you SHOULD be eating.  Learn to eat slowly- and learn to chew!!!!  I focused too much on how much I could still eat and not these things and I am starting to get smacked hard for not learning.  I had never gotten stuck, had issues with eating anything, etc- now, it seems that if I am not fully aware and paying attention to every bite I put in my mouth- I will pay for it- NOT a thing you want to learn.
I know it can be really hard to see others losing so quickly, having restriction so quickly- but you need to focus on YOU!!!  Not them- this is all about you and knowing what works for you!  I have been long absent from this board because it was so hard for me to deal with these that I had to step away.
Good luck and know that it will work for you,
