Im confused...

Easily confused but thats a different topic! LOL!..anyway

I've been approved by my insurance company for a week now.  No sorry, 2 weeks now. I have called Dr. Giovanni's office twice and Cheryl tells me that my chart is in her "inbox" and after she reads it and clears me, they will set up my 2nd appointment.  Well, its been a week since Ive been approved by my insurance company...I guess Im repeating myself here, but I dont get it.  I hear on the board all the time that after your insurance company approves, its no time and youre getting your 2nd appointment.  I guess Im getting anxious too.....Just needed to vent a bit..thanks.  cathy

Cathy - Take it from me. Dr. G's office is not the best in moving things along quickly. I have ranted about it numerous times on this board. Just have patience, they will call, but it usually takes longer than we think/hope!

Guess what?  they called LOL!  wouldn't ya know it!  Ah yes Liza I know you had said they were a bit slow to say the least!  
I go to see her for my 2nd appt. on May 18th~ YAY!!!

Are you waiting on a call from Doc Giovanni, that works with Dr. Pohl our ot Johnston, Ri? I had my surgery with Doctor Pohl last Wednesday (gastric Bypass). I had several questions over the weekend that I had so I called because Dr. Pohl said to call anytime. She did call back three hours later, and she was not that helpful. She refered me to everyone else and could not tell me anything i needed. I was really diappointed. The lines at that office are rediculous. I could never get through, and when I did, it was a pain because they always had to call me back. I spoke with Dr. Pohl today about all my concerns and he was so nice, and was joking with me and stuff. He is a great surgeon. Iam 5 days post op. My head hunger is terrible. Anyone know any ways to get over the head hunger???

Yes that is the same office.  I hope Dr. P. was able to clear things up for you and assure you (and tell his staff) that questions need to be answered promptly ....

Not too happy to hear the negative feed back on Dr. G. is it possible to switch doctors?

I have Dr. G now but after reading all of these replys I would like to change to Dr.Pohl, does anyone think this is possible.

Its not the doctor, its the office help.

Dr. G is an excellent surgeon and she totally understands the obese.  Her father is obese ( which she talks about) and she has talked to him about WLS surgery.  He has refused due to loving to eat the foods he eats.  And she will tell you that she is fine with that.  THis is not for everyone.   I feel very comfortable with Dr. G.  she has always answered my questions and she never rushed me.  I also did bring in a list of questions to be sure i got them all out.  Don't change surgeons because of the office staff.   Dr. Pohl has the same office staff.   Anyway the important thing is the surgery.  You want an excellent surgeon.  The staff does not do the surgery.   Don't get me wrong, Dr. Pohl is excellent also.  But don't make all the hassles of trying to change things because of a few females who are on the rag one day.  Also, they do respond to kindness.  Have you heard the saying " killing them with kindness"?  It really works.  Everytime I call i am really cooperative and non- aggressive.  People in general want to help people who they feel good about over those who have an attitude.   Just keep that in mind.  Do what you have to do, but don't do anything rash that you may be sorry for later.  Ok, thats all.   Please don't take this the wrong way.  I have in the past gotten lured in the wrong direction when I should have just kept my eyes on the prize.  I don't want that to happen to you thats all.  Take care and good luck.  Keep us posted!  Eldy
