Do you realize how lucky we are?
To live in RI? I consistently read posts on the lapband board about how people travel 200-400 miles ONE WAY to reach their surgeon. I couldn't fathom that. For us, that's akin to having a surgeon in southwest CT to New Jersey. Imagine having to go that far just for a follow up appointment? Or a fill? Or an emergency complication? Takes me 15 minutes max to get to Providence from wherever I might be coming from. I'll take Little Ole Rhody any day!!

You are so right, Deb. I have noticed the same thing. I can't imagine. Especially if you're a lapband patient. Can you picture have to go that far for a fill? I don't know how they do it. Well, I guess they have to. They want to be healthy too. Maybe with WLS being so popular, they may get more surgeons out there to do this and make it more convenient. But meanwhile, I like the "smallest little state in the Union". Eldy
The whole fill thing just keeps me in constant amazement. I read about people who have to travel hours (!) for a fill. Since they have to travel hours, they ask the doctor to be aggressive with the fill. Then, they have to travel hours back again for an unfill because they are too tight. Makes me realize how lucky I have it!
