Post op question

I was wondering how long it has taken you to get back on track physically. I'm hoping to have my surgery soon and I'm trying to make sure that i have enough help with my children. How long after you came home were you able to get around somewhat normally? I know that walking and moving around is important but did you get tired quickly? I have a 9 year old a 5 year old and one that is about 18 months. Any suggestions to help things go smoothly. I have family out of town that will be coming to help so I need to make a plan.

Hi Tiffany, Everyone Recovers different, i am 6 days out, i am walking about a mile and feel good, but get tired easy,the first 3 days are slow, but it gets better everyday,

I felt good the next week.  The drain was a pain but beside not being able to pick up my kids I felt great and was never tired. I did everything I normally would except lift. 

Did everyone have a drain after RNY surgery? Some have told me they did, some have said they didn't so I am just wondering.

I was down about 4-5 days, but you will need help with the 18month old, no lifting...after 2 weeks its driving and regular routine...
