Johanna...I am so glad to hear that you are home!   Congrats!!   Trust me they called me the belch king in the hospital...from the time they brought me up to the room and like for a week or so after I was home....I was belching!!  As the common advice...try to get your water in and get up and around!  You will be just fine!

Welcome home!   Well, it seems you've gotten some great advice here.  Just so you know, I was in alot of pain too.  I hear people talk about how they are sleeping in bed as soon as they get home.  Well, not me!  I had to sleep on the recliner for about 4 weeks because my sides hurt and I can't sleep on my back.  I was taking vicodin for about 3 weeks too.  But it DOES go away and it will be amazing!  Just remember, your body went thru major surgery.  It will be complaining for a while. LOL   But the protein, water and walking are the most important to concentrate on.   Its a whole new learning experience.  Its like being a baby.  They start with formula and move to mushy foods and then to soft foods and so on.  Thats how you have to do it... baby steps.
"sip, sip, sip, walk, walk, walk,"    repeat as necessary.

Good luck and keep us posted with your progress!   Eldy

I have myself propped up on 6 pillows, so I can sit up when I sleep - I am NOT a back sleeper and my back hurt so bad while I was in the hospital.

I am pretty amazed by how much it hurt... from everyones replies I didn't think it would be that bad, but for me it was! i am a giant baby!!
