Hi everyone.   My name is John and i had the duodenal switch on 2/24 with Dr. Houston in Nashville, TN.   The reason I am here on this board is my little sister lives in Worcester and is thinking about WLS.   I called Dr. Sax's office today and they do the DS I was wondering if Dr. Sax was anyone on heres surgeon.   If so what surgery did you have, how was the hospital stay and aftercare.

Thanks in advance for your help

John:

There are a few people who post here who use Dr. Sax.  I'm thinking with the holiday weekend other activities might be keeping them away.  Might I suggest you scroll back through the posts and find those people?  Then, you could PM them directly.

John ~ Hello there.  My brother and I are both patients of Dr. Sax.  I had my RNY in August of '08 and my brother is waiting for insurance approval for the DS.  Both of us have felt very comfortable and confident with him.  We also have had a positive experience with his office and support staff.  He impressed me a competent surgeon who cared for my incisions and as a whole person, a rare find in a surgeon.  In terms of stay at the Miriam, all went well there.  Staff were great about pain control and helpful hints for me and my family for living with my pouch at home.
Fell free if I can answer any other questions for you or your sister.  Best of wishes to you both.

Hi, I too had Dr Sax as my surgeon the 2nd time around for my revision surgery.  He is a great surgeon and his staff is just a great!  The hospital (Miram) I had no complaints about them. except for when I was discharged.  The care was exceptional. Please feel free to ask any questions that come to mind.

Good luck,
Melissa
