Patients of Dr. Pohl...
Okay, so tomrrow will be a week since surgery. I was told to continue with shakes until my post-op appointment with him. I just got the appointment which is April 13th. He wasn't very specific with my diet so I just wanted to check with others and see what you have done or are doing. I do have some lowfat low sodium chicken broth at times. It has almost no calories and is basically adding more water consumption. But I was wondering if I am able to consume anything other than shakes, like sf pudding or anything like that? If not I won't do it, but the shakes get boring and my breath always smells bad no matter what I do!!!
Thanks!

My mother is currently a patient of Dr. Pohl and is about 3-4 week post-op. She was on sf/ff puddings (which she said she adored), sf popcicles and clear broths. No creamy soups for you yet, sorry to say. That'll be after you see him and before your Nut appt. I'm not Dr. Pohl, or your Nut. But that is what she was on post-op. Do you still have that packet you got at his seminar? There should be a list in that.

Hi, I am a patient of Dr. pohl. It's been about 6 months since my gastric bypass. I do remember the first week up until the 4th week he told me only the shakes and broths, after the 4th week I was allowed to add things like jello and scrambled eggs. Hope this helps, I also wish you the best of luck!

Thanks everyone for your responses! I called to make an appointment with the nutritionist and realized that I was supposed to call her back with my surgery date and she would have met with me before d/c. She is also sending me another of those packets from the seminar because I can't seem to find mine. So, all is well!
