Has anyone experienced having what I call "skinny dreams" before the surgery? I mean I havent even finished having my pre op testing ....the last 2 nights I've had those dreams where I KNOW I'm thin...so wierd.  I've had them beofre when I was losing lots of weight on the optifast diet, but seems strange to have them now.  Maybe writing everything down (part of the Nutritionists suggestions) is making my brain think that way.....

I have had thosse dreams as my surgery date gets closer April 2nd, I would rather have those than the opposite, keep up the good dreams they will become reality soon.

Cathy, I believe that stuff happens purposefully.  I think it's your subconsious trying to get you ready for the changes you will be facing, and making certain you are accepting of the goodness that is to come.  I hope I end up with those kind of dreams!

I have been having them lately too!  I know how great I feel about myself and I cannot wait until that becomes my reality!

Totally makes sense Cathy. After I quit smoking I would always have dreams about smoking. For me it was that I smoked after I quit, but I think it's the same concept - it's in your mind right now so you think about it, even when you are sleeping! I once talked to a sober alcholic who said the same thing about dreams about drinking.....I'm no psychologist but it seems par for the course with trying to change addictive behaviors!

Hi Cath,

I haven't had those wonderful dreams but I have had the nightmares where I gain back all the weight I've lost. They literally scare me awake and sweating!

Beside losing a loved one, my biggest fear is gaining all my weight back!

I guess it's a healthy fear though.

See you Wednesday at the Living Life Group!
