First time posting - how long does it take once testing is done??

I am new to this site but have gotten so much out of reading all of your posts!  I attended the seminar in 11/08, consult with Dr. Pohl in 1/09.  I had all of my testing done prior to that except for the endoscopy.  I went for that yesterday and now am so anxious to get going!!  I am having the lap band and am hoping I can get an idea from all of you on how long it usually takes from this point??? (I know I have to wait a week to call the office to have my file reviewed and then sent to Dr. Pohl for clearance.)  My guess is I am still a few months out but I am hoping it could be sooner!  Thanks.

I just have a suggestion for you...Keep calling that office.  I have Dr. Giovanni, and I find the office help not so great at getting back to you.  wait a week and then call on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, don't give up, I figure your about a month away.  Good Luck...

The time will FLY by now. once the office gets the endoscopy results, they will give your chart to Dr Pohl and he will sign off on it...that might take a couple days so dont get discouraged. They can usually get you in pretty quick for your second appt and depending on whats going on and which office you go into, you might get your date the day of your appt. My surgery was almost 2 weeks exactly from my last appt. (2 weeks 3 days to be exact) Some people have a few weeks or even a month or so depending on whats going on with Dr Pohl..but trust me...the time will FLY.

I was lucky,  My seminar was 9/19/08 and the surgery was 12/30/08.  I was persistant with the calls because there was always missing paperwork.   Sometimes I would have the place where the test was done fax it to me then I would fax it to the office.  I would immediatly call to make sure they receive it.   The biggest delay was that I told the shrink that I thought I was an emotional eater.  That landed me 4 more sessions. Quite honestly they did not help, the nutritionist is the one that helped with that.   Good luck.  I think your about a month away.  Be patient its worth it.

Thank you all for your messages!  I appreciate your taking the time to tell me your experiences.  I have heard many times to follow up often with the office so it appears that is more the norm than the exception!!  In the meantime, I am on Medifast and have lost 21 pounds so at least I feel like I am doing something while waiting. I will let you know when I know something.  Oh, one more thing...when does the insurance approval take place?  Do they send it in to insurance after the consultation or wait until after all pre-op testing is complete?  Thanks!!
