Living Life Group at Roger Williams Hospital TONIGHT!
Hey Everyone! Here is your Living Life Group reminder!!!TONIGHT! February 18, 20097-9pmRoger Williams HospitalGreene Lounge825 Chalkstone AvenueProvidence, RIEnter through the Main Entrance and follow the bright yellow signs!Call my cell with any questions....401-481-4339(See guest info below!)As always, I'm so excited about tonight's meeting!Sue (cuppyb) will be our greeter tonight! Our guest is Colin Aina, CSCS, USATF Lev-1, Ba! Colin is my Personal Trainer at Bally's on Newport Avenue in E. Providence!Colin is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a USA Track & Field Level 1 Coach (USATF Lev-1) and he has his degree (BA) in Anthropology! When Colin got out of College in 2004, he worked for a year as the Assistant Track and field/cross country coach at RIC. While there, he studied for his CSCS. After he passed the CSCS exam in June 2005, he began working at Bally's. Since then, he has been working with several different clients.Colin has had a huge range of diversity. Currently, he is working with clients who range from a 13 yr old baseball/basketball/runner who needs to gain some speed, to a 65 year old cancer survivor with a lumber spinal fusion who is getting ready for a marathon in June(in Alaska)!I was referred to Colin because he has experience working with people who have disabilities and want to gain back some of the muscle and stamina they have lost due to their injuries. He's worked wonders for me!He has worked with many people with numerous injuries and backgrounds which makes the job extremely challenging at times. He has never had a long term gastric bypass clients ****il I came along). He's had a few GPB clients that he's worked with for only a few weeks tops. But he has had many clients who have lost over 40 lbs. He says "Honestly, there are not a lot of people (who've had gastric bypass)...who come into the gym with so much determination after having the surgery." The few gastric bypass patients that Colin has met seem to feel that exercising is not important because they are having or have had the surgery anyway. He says "they seem to feel that the operation is THE final step. Obviously, trying to do as much as you can to shed the pounds before hand will help your metabolism and you will decrease the riskiness of the surgery." Colin feels that this, fitness, is an aspect that is overlooked. Colin is really looking forward to meeting everyone tonight! If you have any fitness questions you would like to ask Colin, please write them down! If you are too shy to ask them, give them to me via email or in person tonight. I will be sure to ask them for you in an anonymous way.I will be arriving around 6pm. Come early, stay late!See you tonight my friends!!!Jules | |||
