The Waiting Is Awful

It has been a week since I finished my tests and still have to wait till March 2nd to meet my doctor, this sitting and waiting is hard. I wanted to ask all my friends out here how many had the Open RNY, I hear how  well everyone does after surgery and just wanted to know if I have a tuffer road ahead of me than i thought. thanks to all the new friends I have made out here you all have been such a help to me

Hey Romeo!

Yes, the waiting really stinks! But it's so worth the wait! Hey, maybe the office can put you on a 'cancellation' list? So if someone cancels an appointment, you can be called to come in instead? Usually, the list can be long. But it doesn't hurt to check into it.

Fortunately, I didn't have the open bypass. I hope someone here can help you with that one. The RNY board may be a good place to check out!

Meanwhile, lots of support groups out here!!! Hint, hint, hint!

The waiting does stink!!  My appointment is not until March 16 so I feel ya Romeo!

Just look at it this way - February is the shortest month, at least that means two days sooner than other months!  Take this time to stock up on protein powders and vitamins and stuff.  It is expensive so this gives you time for that.

Use this time to prepare your body for the surgery.  Boost protein, take regular vitamon doses, etc.  Start talking short walks - seriously up and down my street is enough for me!!

I cannot wait until you get your surgery date!! I know I will be following you soon!!  But yup, waiting sure does suck!

Greeting Romeo, I just found out that my date was moved back a week, so i have to wait too !! bummer ! relax brother ! i was told that 5 %  of all surgerys that are done by my doctor are open, i will be having laproscopic RNY
