There have been multiple discussions the last week to ten days on the lapband board about this very topic.  You should check it out.

Personally, I like Precision Engineered Whey Powder available at Vitamin World (in the Warwick Mall).  I use a heaping scoop to 12 oz. milk for mine.

my advise- try to find sample size packets or small sizes first! I bought way too many large sizes and found I couldn't stomach them (though I found out about return policies too late- you can return opened containers within one month at Vitamin Shoppe and GNC)

You can also try getting a basic flavor like Vanilla and try adding things to it- peanut butter, fruits, sugar free syrups, or I have even made a mocha coffee drink with instant coffee (add just a tiny bit of hot tap water to dissolve the coffee first) and chocolate protein drink.

I have always had a problem with finding a right pick for me- but the best tasting- from what everyone tells me are the Nectar brands.  I know you can get a whole spectrum of samples from this website

hope this helps!

Hey Chris,

I tried many shakes while I was pre-op and found that my tastes changed post-op. But the one protein shake that has NOT changed for me is Nectar by Syntrax! It comes in many many delicious flavors and you can get samples to try for only $1.99 each at www.vitalady.com. They come in flavors such as Strawberry Kiwi, Caribbean Cooler (pina colada-ish), Twisted Cherry, Apple Ecstacy, non-flavored, Fuzzy Navel, Lemon Iced Tea, Roadside Lemonade, Fruit Punch, Orange and so much more. I never get sick of them! And they aren't thick like the usual protein shakes. Yummy!

I also enjoy (yes, believe it or not, enjoy) the Pure Protein bars (small ones) and Pure Protein canned shakes. They come in Strawberry, Chocolate, Cookies & Cream, Vanilla and Bananas & Cream. They're great when I'm on the run and need a quick pick-me-up!

Check 'em out!

See you again soon!

I had Dr. Roye and was told anything low carb was ok.. Even Carnation Instant Breakfast sf..  But I love soy shakes and EAS has great deals on powder protein and they are yummy with skim milk and 1/2 a banana.. over 20 grams of protein+ milk is around 35 g protein per 2 scoops.. its pretty good.. strawberry and chocolate..

I used Bariatrix brand from Dr. Pohl's office. I despise the vanilla.
I tried Nectar's Vanilla - it's gross.
The Bariatrix chocolate and strawberry is ok.
I like Labrada shakes but haven't used them because i'm not sure if they are compliant.
