Not a good day

Ya know, this may sound crazy, but....

Maybe this will be a good thing for you in that you will be able to focus on yourself and your weightloss, etc. It's great that you are paid through June!!!!! So, you do have the chance to be selective, like you said. And, though it is still a raw wound now, maybe you will see that this may give you the time to focus on yourself for a little while, at least!

Best of luc****ep me updated!!

And, by the way...Baskin Robbins has No Sugar Added ice cream that is great! So, if you want to drown in your sorrows but not kill yourself with Ben and Jerrys, you could opt for BaskinRobbins. =D

 Hi Sue,
I am so sorry to hear about your job. I know you loved  it.  Hopefully this economy will straighten out soon.  You are in my thoughts and prayers.

so sorry to hear about this.  I too was a victim of this wonderful economy- the car dealership I worked for closed it's door and I decided to take some time and focus on my family.  It has been wonderful, but now that I am trying to get back into the job market- my field of expertise is no longer marketable-
Just think of all the time you can now dedicate to school, yourself, and your Valentine's day goal!  Who knows- this could have been for a great reason that you won't see just yet

Hi Sue - sorry to hear about your job. That sucks - looks like you are the 4th RI OH person to be affected by a lay off.

I hope that you find something soon! Cheer up - everything will be fine.

Thanks everyone!!!!

I have decided to enroll in the Professional Human Resources certificate program so I can sit for my SHRM exam in the Spring.  It starts on 2/12 for 10 weeks on Thursday nights.  So I can still make Julie's meeting

I've posted over 50 resumes already and am reaching out to all my professional contacts and taking full advantage of networking right now.   I created a profile on LinkedIn as well today.

Hoping to find something by April, right now I will focus on school and my thesis - plus getting ready for the SHRM exam.  Until then you can find me at Planet Fitness working my butt off every morning.

Hi,

I know how that feels, I got laid off last year from two part time jobs within one week.  I applied to Massachusetts uneployment..(don't forget to apply) on the phone then you can then apply on line to get your weekly benefits.  Anyways, I finally got something for last season (Christmas) and was laid off last week.  I have applied for my second extenstion.  You will be able to collect for at least 40plus weeks, if not more.  If you need to go to school, this is the time.  I am too old for that, so I am looking for also collecting my second extension.  At my age, (62) and no college, it's hard for me, but I am looking.  My saying is everything happens for the best.  You;re young, you will find something.    Good Luck.

Sorry to hear that, must have been quite a blow losing both in a week.  Hope you find something soon.

I'm going to hold on collecting until my severance runs out, that should take me til the Summer before I need unemployment.  That way I can stretch it further if need be.
