Miriam Lap Band Group
I am looking to find out how well attended and "productive" (sorry, I can't think of a better word right now) the Miriam Lap Band support group is. I'd love to go, but I typically have a standing engagement each Tuesday night at 6:30 pm in the Cranston area. If it's worth going, I can make it happen. Looking for feedback as the Lap Band slant is especially attractive to me.
Thanks for the thoughts!

Since it is the only lapband group I know of in the state, it is worth trying at least a few times. Lapband is different from bypass and it gets really hard going to a mixed meting sometimes when you are not doing well and hearing how you are the only one in the room that didn't lose and lose big last week. The only problem I have with the group is that a lot of pre op patients for both surgeries go to the group and it can become all about bypass and not lapband. It is just a 1/2 hour for lapband only, and then it becomes an open session. If your standing apt is something you can miss once in a while- I would try and work one or two in
You confirmed my thought, Alexia -- thank you so much! It's one reason I so like the OH lapband board -- everything is about what I hope to experience, and that's what I think is most important right now.
I'm going to try to work it into my schedule next week.
