I had a very bad night last night.  I think I had a panic attack!!!

My daughter woke up last night and she was sick.  She vomited all over the place.  After I cleaned her and everything else up, I went back to bed.  I was laying there and I got this weird feeling.  I felt like I was dying.  I started to shiver and because very afraid.  I was home alone with two young children.  I almost called 911.  I got up and started to pace around.

I thought if I closed my eyes that I would never wake up.  Wow, I thought it was the end.  I was so scared.  I guess I fell asleep after an hour or so.

This has never happened to me before !!!

Has anyone gone through something like this?

As you can see I woke up -- THANK GOD

Hello,

I have a long history of  panic attacks.  They can play great mind game with you.  I know with my panic attack I shiver and get very afraid of everything.  I had not had one since last april. Since the surgery and lost a lot of my weight.  Just last week I broke my wrist and  on thur they put a cast on my hand.  The cast has been hurting my hand.  Never had a cast on that I was old enough to remember that is.  Last night I has a panic attack.  1st one since april.  I was crying and saying I needed to get the cast off.  I was shaking my heart was going 90 miles an hour.  I used to take medication for this but since. I had not had an attack in so long I thought I could come off the medication.  I took a pain pill last night and went to bed and tried to control my breathing.  As you can see also here I woke up too.  Panic attack can be scarey.  Stress come out in funny ways even when you think your not that stressed out.  I would say for you since this was only once that it happen to you.  Keep an eye on it. If it happen again a few more time, I would give your doctor a call. Make sure it is panic attack.  9 out of 10 they are.  They have medication that can control them if they get out of hand like they where on me a while back ago. It could be just a one time panic attack and if this is the case I am glad to hear.  I hope  I helped you out some.  Sorry you had to go though it being home alone with kids.  Ever I can help just email me.

Hi,

Thanks for the replys.

I never felt like that in my life.  Wow, I was so scared.  I am also scared I'm going to die when I have the surgery (but that's another story).

I didn't know what to do.  What a terrible thing to go through.  I feel a little depressed today and very emotional.  I hope it doesn't happen again.

Thanks for the support.

Take Care

Hi Aprilstwins,

I have suffered panic attacks and severe anxiety since I was 27 yrs old.  I am now 62.  When I first had my panic attacks, I could not breathe.  I was hyperventaling so bad that my mouth, hands were numb and I was all twisted up from the waist up.  I went to 3 hospitals and no one knew what it was except for Rhode Island hospital..Thanks to a young dr. He gave me a shot of valium and all of a sudden it went away....It was one of the worst cases of severe anxiety he had seen.  I had this anxiety for 3 days thats why I was all contorted.  I was on valium for yrs but now I am other anxiety meds and havent had a panic attack in years....My panic attacks were from my personal life.  If you have another one of them, please see your pcp and ask for help.  It the scariest thing I have ever been through and I have been thru a lot.  The mind can play very serious games you.
