DR. VITHIANATHAN

I dont know what it is. I started this process back in August, Meghan told me as long as I get all my testing done I can set up my surgery date for two weeks after. So I did so and was done by the beginning of Nov. Icalled and called and they said they cant set it up yet. So finally I called again Nov 28th and she said I have to wait til February. Which I am upset now because I have a new insuruance and now I have to wait 6 months. I call Meghan she don't call back she gives me attitude and every time I ask to speak to Dr. Vithianathan she says he's busy and he will call you back and guess what no call back I tried 5 times. She knows she did wrong and I know I sound like a mean person right now but I was just wondering if anyone that goes to this office is ever treated this way. I really want this surgery and I feel she messed it up for me.  This is my life she messed with and I feel really upset about this. Also with the economy being so rough right now I had to pay 500.00 to go see a Psych eval, because my insuarance didnt pay it. Knowing I can't get this surgery til July of 2009 I could of used that 500 for christmas gifts/bills. Does anyone feel me? Or am I just going overboard being mad??

Hi SaraBeth,

I do FEEL ya! I would feel upset as well. I have never been seen in their office but I know a lot of people who have.

This is the very first time I've heard of this happening. I'm sorry it has happened to you.

Have you thought that..maybe..just maybe..it's meant to be for you to have your surgery later rather than earlier? I know you're P'd off. Rightfully so. But maybe there is some Divine reason you that don't know about which 'helped' this happen?

Outside of chewing heads and letting Dr. V. know how you feel, maybe you can take this time to...

Do more research

Go to more support group meetings

Get to know more people who have had and will have the surgery

Work on becoming more healthy and better prepared for surgery.

I know six months seems like forever and so far away! I'm seven months post-op and can't believe it's already been seven months! It went by faster than I thought!

Keep breathing.....in......out.....in......out.....that's it!

I go to this office and have not had problems like that at all. I did have some waiting when Meagan was setting up my pre-op appts it seemed to take for ever! but she did get back to me in a day or two each time I called.
Why are they saying you have to wait? Did you do all your pre-op  tests? I was told an appt could be made as soon as the pre-op tests were done. I had an appt to see Dr V a few weeks after last test and then had surgery date in a few days. Of course i also had a quick approval from my insurance.
I do have to say I was very pleased with Dr V. he is very cautious as well as thorough.
Please let me know how you make out. Good Luck.

I too have had surgery through this office.  I found them to be quite thorough and professional, and never had a problem getting answers from Meghan, Jodie or Amy.  I never called to speak specifically to the doc, so I don't know how easily that is or is not.  However, I did have a concern when they scheduled me for a last minute cardiac test and I worried that they had found something was wrong with my heart.  I called the office and between tears of worry explained my fear.  Jodie said she would be sure to address it to Dr. Sax, and a couple of hours later (in the evening) he called me to ease my fears.

I don't blame you for your frustration, at all, but I too wonder why the wait?

I have no complaints about Dr. Vthianianthan its just with Meghan. I still dont know, I have to wait six months because my inusruance changed and they make you go to a nutritionists for 6 months. Which I explained to Meghan and she told me there would be no problem as long as I got all my appointments in enough time, but I had this done in plenty of time and still it was not enough, I.m just upset I rushed around and paid alot out of pocket for nothing.

I had my surgery by Dr. V and never had a problem.  Everything went quickly and smoothly.  I had my last test oct 30th and my appt to go over the tests with Amy was Nov 11th.  My surgery was Dec30th.  I found the ofice staff very efficient and personable.

Sarahbeth ~ Hello.  So sorry this hasn't been the best experience for you so far.  I too am seen through this office, as is my brother now, and we've had nothing but positive experiences.  You certainly have every right to be upset, this certainly impacts greatly on your life and how you proceed on.  I do hope things change for the positive, that you can take this time to regroup and get ready for all the positive changes that will come to your way.
