WOW moment
As some of you know, I work at Newport Hospital down here in Newport. One of our doctors stopped by my office the other day. He asked me if I'd talk to one of his patients about my experiences with RNY as this patient will be having this soon.
Well, I jumped right up on my "soap box" and told this gentleman how great I feel and how my co-morbidities have all gone away. Told him also how my self-esteem has improved, etc... I also told him that this web site is a great resource and about the support groups that are offered (especially Julies ). The patient told me he could tell that I was very enthusiastic about this and was glad he was going to be joining us . Because I met him at work as a patient and we have our privacy laws, I can't mention his name - but I think we'll be meeting him on the board soon.
I felt so good and so proud that this doctor (whom I have huge respect for) brought his patient to see me as a success story.
ok - thanks for listening :)

When you get older, you realize it's a lot less about your place in the world but your place in you. It's not how everyone views you, but how you view yourself. - Natalie Portman
No privacy laws here - but I haven't seen either of the people who asked me about it from work on the boards yet.
