Hi,

I'm new to this.  I'm looking for friends and support.  I am hoping for surgery.  Because of my insurance I must do a structured weight loss program for 6 months.  I must see my regular doctor and a dietitian every month for 6 months.

So, I waited 2 months for my appointment with the doctor and now have to this.

It's very frustrating.....

Hi April!

Welcome to the RI Forum!

There are a few of us here who have had to go through what you are going through. You'll be at the end before you know it though.

I'm assuming you have twins because of your username. I have twin boys, now 20 years old. Fraternal. We should talk!

While you're waiting for the six months to get by, come on here daily. You'll meet lots of great people here and you'll learn a lot too. I don't know where I would be without this group of friends!

Also, there are many, many support groups in Rhode Island. If you would like a list of them, PM me with your email address or email me at [email protected]. I'll send you the info on each of them.

Again, WELCOME! I'm happy you're here!

Hi April and welcome!

I had to go thru a weight management program before my surgery too.  Please read my blog...I talked about my journey there.  Maybe it will help to see that you are not alone in this.  I actually got a lot out of my process, and now feel better prepared to deal with my life post surgery.  I hope you will too.

Yes, it is frustrating, but not much you can do other than lose some weight while satisfying your insurance co......just know that what you lose before surgery will be gone forever!!  What's better than that?!!?

Definitely check out the board and ask lots of questions.  There is a lot of support here.  We'll help get you thru the wait, and your surgery day will be here before you know it.   Best of luck!

Welcome to OH.  I know it can be frustrating but , hang in there. Before you know it the 6 month will be done and you will be well on your way to better health. Remember you have all of us here that will help you when you need it. Ask question, come on here daily and see what everyone else has to say, and come to support meeting. They help out a lot.

This is a jouney with a great ending.  Your good health.  I was told when I started my jouney we didnt put this weight on over night so it will not be  taken off  over night . It will take time.  Congrats on that 1 step.  Look forward to watching your jouney.

Hi April and welcome to the best board on the internet!
Please dont get too upset over the structured diet, so many here have had to go through it and it will be over in no time. And remember...we're always here to listen when you want to vent!
