I got a super fast approval!!!

Holy cow!! I sent my info to my surgeons office on Friday afternoon - I am guessing they sent it in to SHPS (3rd Party for my health Ins.) on Monday.  Well today I got my phonecall around 3:30 telling em I am approved!!! Woo hoo!! 

I do not have a date yet so my approval is "pending" on receiving a date!  I was already given the authorization number though!! I am so excited!!!

Congrats!!!    I know how fantastic of a feeling when you get that call..

Hard to believe mine is 27 days away!

That is SO COOL!!! I know that I had some hoops to jump through with SHPS too, but after was all said and done, it was down hill form there.

I had my surgery done at RWH and the anesthesiologists were also covered 100% !!!!

I only was billed for the 100/day co-pay. AND if you have to go into the hospital AGAIN within 90 days, you will NOT be billed after $500.00 (5 days)...if this is confusing, call me and we can chat.

We need to get together soon, you will need some support after the surgery (family is great, but they have not been through this, and it is good to have someone to talk to who knows pretty close to what and how you are feeling...these support groups are great!)

You should have your surgery date soon!!!!!

I was told that it will cost 1500 for the surgery (my max out of pocket.)  I set aside that much to be taken out of my husbands paycheck for his FSA account.  We shall see! If not I am going to have a lot of money to spend on medical expenses throughout the year!  I wonder if vitamins are eligible for reimbursement....

Yep, vitamins can be reimbursed...go to the online SHPS site and check out ALL the stuff that is acceptable. Some things you need a Dr's note for, but I do not think that is a problem. If you have any questions call SHPS directly, they have been really helpful to me. I also set aside 1500 this year in the FSA account, I know that we will use it all! I am going to nickel and dime the FSA account, because if your don't USE it, you LOSE it!
