Outpatient surgery

Hi, just a quick note. I had an open lap done yesterday at Kent Hospital. They were able to drain the cyst and remove the cyst wall while preserving the ovary. Percocet is helping some, but it makes me itchy...add insult to injury! Pain is about a 3-4 when I am still and goes to a 7-8 when getting up and moving.
I will be laid up for a couple of weeks while this incision heals. (I also have 2 port holes where the Dr tried to do it laprascopic, but I guess she needed more room. So now I have an incision that looks like a C-section...so much for adopting kids.
Well the good news is that I have lost a total of 45 lbs since Oct 1st (GBS) and a grand total of 67 lbs since last December!!!
I will make sure I get in my protein and try to take small walks...gotta keep those blood clots away!
Email me, would love to hear how everyone is doing.
Merry Holidays to all!

Oh Ruth that sounds crappy!  Try taking some liquid Benadryl - I had to take that during labor for both pregnancies because the pain meds make me friggin nuts!

Congrats on the superb weight loss!!!  I have just finally submitted my info to the surgeon who will then submit to SHPS so now I will wait! I hope the wait is not too long!

Have a great Holiday!

Hi Ruth,

I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this. I hope things work out in the end and you don't get anymore of those cysts! I know how painful they are. I've had several lapotomies myself. Never open though, thank Goodness.

Congrats on the weight loss! You know what to do! Keep it up!

We'll miss you at the meeting tomorrow night!

Have a Merry Christmas! Caroling

Ruth ~ Hello.  Ugh....more surgery!  Hope this will give you a clean bill of health from here on in, so you can focus on healing and continuing with your great weight loss.
Will your Mom be coming back into town to celebrate the Holidays and help you with kids, house stuff, etc.?  You're my Warwick neighbor, let me know if you need anything.
Merry Christmas Wishes to you and your family.
