such an idiot...

So, last night i ate something at 6pm that apparently didnt agree with me. I had wicked abdominal pains, which i thought could be gas, but was not sure. So, i still had the pain at 11pm and was on the phone with my mom crying hysterically because i had no idea what to do. Dr. Miner was on call and he said to go to the hospital. So, as my roomates brought me to the hospital, my parents made the treck up here... 2 HOURS!!! Anyway, it was just gas pains and i felt awful that my parents drove all the way here and back, totaling 4 hours of driving and 2 hours of sitting in the hospital mith me for gas pains! I felt so bad! I didnt think that gas pains could be that bad and last for that long... Im just hoping that never happens again (I'm sure my parents are hoping that too)... I can't wait to be back in RI... ONLY ONE WEEK LEFT HERE!!!

Hey Don't be so down on yourself Better to be safe then sorry.  I am sure your parents felt the same way.  I am glad to hear it was just gas and that you are all right.  Hope to see you when you get home.

Meredith - dont be hard on yourself, its definitely best that you went to the hospital - the same thing happened to me and it turned out that my intestines were twisted and I had to have emergency surgery. If I had waited any longer I would have died. Dont ever wait when you are in pain. You did the right thing!

So - home in a week huh? We will have to get together!

Thank goodness you're okay! Better to be safe than sorry, don't you agree? And you know what? Pain is Pain, no matter what the cause, it frickin' HURTS! I would have done the same thing you did. I'd rather feel silly than be sorry!

One more week! I can't wait to see you!

What really matters is that you are OK!!  I am sure your parents would rather drive 2 hrs for you to be healthy than to drive 2 hours and you being severely ill. 

I had gas pains so bad once in college that my mom brought me to the ER!! Of course I didn't know they were gas pains I thought I was dying- it was that bad!!  I also felt stupid when they gave me some tums!!!  We laugh about it now.
