LapBand Surgery: RI or MA?

Dr. Pohl and Dr. Giovanni work together in RI. The have seminars at Roger Williams Hospital each month. The seminars are filled with information on both the bypass and bad procedures and the packet you recieve answers just about everything. I attended the June Seminar and decided to have Dr. Jennine Giovanni do the lap-band surgery. Roger Williams is working on becoming a Center Of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery. Becauseof this, they have a dedicated staff and wing for post op bariatrc patients. The nurses only deal with patients who have had bariatric surgery and are very knowledgeable. I had surgery on 11/11/08. Everything went well and I am feeling great!  Attending a seminar is the first step. Best to so that and then you can make a more informed decision. Attend a few at different hospitals, they you choose where you feel most comfortable.
