Got surgery date!!

I think I have to change my mind about having surgery ASAP. I got my surgery date of 11/19 and i spoke to someone i work with and she told me that she didn't recieve any chacks from TDI until she was already back at work a month and 1/2 later. I don't  think i could do that right before XMAs. Unfortunately I have a hands on job with no light duty so i don;t think i can afford to take a month off with no pay right before XMAS. I don't know what to do now, I want this so bad.

If you do direct deposit it take about 3 weeks for the TDI to kick in.  You get it all in one check then weekly after that.  At least that is how it worked for me.  You can also apply online now which is faster then the mail.

So, i ended up changing my surgery date so that there wouldn't be any chance of me not having money right before Xmas. So my new surgery date is Dec. 15. I'm mad but excited. I wish i could have had it sooner but i guess it will come soon enough right? Well thanks for everyones support!

Everything happens for a reason. We all know this but sometimes it just plain sucks!

Sorry to hear you have to wait an extra month.

There's a lot to be grateful for though!

Starting with......  

You'll be able to move around without post-surgery pain during Thanksgiving

You'll be able to get some XMas shopping done and presents wrapped prior to Xmas day.

You're ending the old 2008 and opening up the door to 2009 being the beginning of more health and wellness!

You have a job that pays TDI

You have us!!! Any time, any day, any where you go....to support you!  

You can go to the Miriam Hospital Meeting tonight and talk with someone there.

Hi Nicole,

I'm also a patient of Dr. V's......and it would appear I got your date!  I'm scheduled for November 19th after originally planning for surgery on September 9th.  UHC disrupted that plan in a big way and it only got sorted out this past week.  Meaghan told me that the 19th became available when another patient had to reschedule......so you see, things do work out!  I agree with Jules that there is a lot to be grateful for.....and I hope your new timing works better for you.  While I live in RI, I work in CT, so I don't have the TDI to contend with.   Good luck with all that, and I'll be thinking of you on December 15th.  Maybe we'll meet at the November support group....I'm planning on attending....

    I'm jealous you got my date! But i'm happy for you! I wish i could have gone sooner but you're right everything does happen for a reason. And everything is working out great with my new date, I've gotten my insurance approval already and all of my pre-op and post op appts. So i'm grateful i didnt have any trouble on that end. I'm also happy that i'll be walking into the new year as a new person! Good luck with everything and i'll def. be thinking of you on the 19th

             You're right I do have a lot to be thankful for I just got insurance approval in less than 5 business days! I thought i had a battle ahead of me because I have not one health problem, and i have approval and no battle so i am very happy. I appreciate your constant words of encouragement thank you so much!

I also received my date and I am scheduled for Dec. 16th. So I will be there with you. I also have Dr V. When I saw him last Wednesday they scheduling for the second week in Dec. I could not go that week so it was scheduled for the 16th. Maybe I will see you there. Good luck I am sure with everything going on this month will go by quickly!
