Exactly One Year Ago Today.....
As you all know, today is exactly 1 year from my Gastric Bypass Surgery!!! I'm so excited and happy with the changes that I have made in one year and I am so grateful to have met each and everyone of you! You have all been there for the ups and downs over the past year and I thank you for that!
I started this journey at 427 lbs, my weight today is 212 lbs! I have lost 214 lbs in exactly one year and I couldn't be happier! I took my measurements last night and in total I have lost 118.5 inches!!! I was shocked! 30 inches lost from my hips alone!
Over the past year I have been able to experience so many new and exciting things! Horseback riding being one of my best. I can walk easily, run, exercise, be out all day without being tired and just enjoy life!
I've gone from a size 32 pants to a size 14 and a size 30/32 shirt to a size L/XL. I can shop in normal stores and feel like I am part of my age group!
Before I had high blood pressure, sleep apnea, pain in my knees and feet and now - NONE OF IT!!!
I've grown as a person and learned who I am, what I like, don't like and what I want out of life. I've gone back to school (something I wouldn't do because I was too embarrassed), I've experienced a LOT of things over the last year - some good, some not so good, but I've learned something from all of it! More has come out of this surgery than I EVER expected!!!!!
This month I encountered my first "bump in the road" when I had to have emergency surgery for a twisted intestine - but, like I said, it was just a bump in the road and I'd STILL do it a million times again! This is truly the best choice that I have ever made for myself and I hope to continue to reap the benefits of RNY!
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, listened to me, encouraged me, etc... over the last year. I only hope that I can pay it forward!
