Hi, I certainly overdid it today...even though the amonut I ate was SO small in comparison to what I would normally eat...I feel so uncomfortable and bloated. I am NOT nauseated...but I keep thinking...if I puke I will feel better, PLEASE HELP A DUMMY!

PS Nothing is stuck, and I chewed 3 papaya enzyme tablets already...trying to burp and move so things move along, but I think this will be a LONG night unless I get relief somehow.

we all do it from time to time Ruth, unfortunately...theres not a lot you can do about it but wait it out. The pressure should let up soon so just try to get as comfortble as you can and hopefully things will be better soon!

It takes a long time to adjust to eating new amounts.  So throw-up.  Sometimes I did, sometimes I just waited it out.

Try to stop before you are full & put your fork down.  Then wait 5-15 min. & eat again if you are still hungry.

After a year out, I am better at portion control, but still err. It's tricky.

Well, I am learning the HARD way! Anything that has to do with flour/rice is a NO-NO! (At least for me!) I did not puke, although I wanted to jsut stick my fingers down my throat and make myself, I was too afraid of disrupting something. I still have some fullness, and hope that it all comes out eventually....liquid diet today!
I must remind myself that I need to make healthy choices ALL the time now...eating like I did before will just hurt me...literally!
I guess we all walk this path at one time or another, thinking "It won't happen to me!" Well, I guess Dr. Pohl removed my superpowers when he did the surgery, cause I am finding out I can't do this on my own!
Thanks for all the support!

Hi Ruth, I would also recommend that you follow the diet plan Dr P has given you, as well as the nutritionist.  It doesn't recommend some things so early in the game, and they can hurt you....so please be careful and make choices based on the time table in that info packet.  Hope you are feeling better.

Ruth,
It's a learning experience....even us bandsters have this problem! It does stink as it's happened to me...I too have waited it out and it does pass over time.
Focus on slowing down while eating.

Thanks for the suggestions...I really do need to review, I do not see the nutritionist until next week, so maybe that will help.
Again, thanks for the support

I just recalled that I also bought some plastic toddler spoons to eat with & kept some in my purse.  These help control the amount going in & slow you down considerably.
