I'm Home!!!!
Hi Everyone!
First of all, thank you for your well wishes, prayers and kind thoughts - they all worked. I'm home and feeling good!
Julie did a great job explaining exactly what happened. Tuesday afternoon I began having pain in my abdomen and thought it was gas pain. I finished my day at work and then went to school and after school, went home and took some tylenol and Gas Ex and went to bed. I woke up several times throughout the night in horrible pain. I called the after hours number and another Dr was on call, he called me back and told me to take Milk of Magnesia - he said it sounded like I was constipated. I went to CVS at 3 in the morning, got some M.O.M. and took the max dose - 4 hours later, no relief. I called Dr. G's office as soon as they opened and they got me right in.
Like Julie said, she sent me right to RW Hospital for a CAT scan and then to be admitted. I was in my room for about 5 minutes and Dr.G called to say she would meet me in the OR in a half hour - the surgery couldnt wait.
I had surgery to fix the twisted intestine and she also removed some scar tissue that was in the way and sewed me back up!
Dr. G is so cool - she even took pictures of the twist and showed them to me today before I left the hospital so I got to see my own guts!!!
I feel so much better, I came home, took a showed and now I'm just resting.
Thanks again for your prayers!
I love you all!

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy so glad to see that you are home and feeling better!! I am also glad to hear that Dr G didnt waste any time at all getting you right in there and getting you all fixed up, makes me feel good to know that . So now that you are home just kick back and relax a bit. Let me know when you are up to it, and we can grab some coffee...on me of course!

Welcome home Laura. I so glad that you are feeling better. I spoke to Ken today and he said you had met with him before this all happened. He said you went over everything. I hope to see you at the RW meeting on the 24th. I have my pre op this Wednesday, then surgery on the 28th. I probably told you this already. Sorry if I did. Hope your back on your feet soon.
Take care,
Karen
