Thanks again for all of your well wishes! Today was pretty good, I actually got to go out. My mom who is from NY came to help me with the kids. I really do not have a lot of energy! She is a real blessing. She is here until Monday the 14th...then it is sink or swim! I really want to start a journal of my journey, but am not sure how or where to start.

We made a list of things that we needed today and as I was giving her directions to Walmart, I thought with a slight panic "That store is TOO BIG to walk around!" , so I directed her to all the little mom and pop stores that we have in the area. We were able to purchase our goods at reasonable prices without the stress of feeling like we went to the Luray Caverns!!!! (If you have no idea what I am talking about, Google it :P)

I think that I do push myself a little more than I should when it comes to taking pain meds, and I am going to listen to my body tomorrow a little closer. I am definitely walking, making sure that I sip, sip, sip.  I didn't fret too much about the protein today, and I am not sure if I even hit 20, so I will watch that. The SF Popsicles did sound great when I bought them pre-surg, but now all I crave is WARM things. Weird.

I do have one request. I am looking for someone who lives in/near Warwick, and is traveling up to Johnston this week. I am in need of some more protein shakes. I have my first appointment with the Dr on the 23rd. Being that I can't drive yet, and my mom is totally unfamiliar with the area,(plus she thinks that I will fall asleep during the ride, and she will get lost). I can call the Dr and pay for the shakes over the phone with the CC, they would just need to be picked up and delivered. I know I am asking a lot, but I would really appreciate it, I am even willing to help with gas.

I really think that there should be a " welcome committee" that would involve the people in our group (and maybe some others) that would do a weekly check up, maybe a med run, and at least one family meal...I know that it sounds like what a church would do, but not everybody has a church family, or even an extended family in RI...just a thought...I wouldn't mind spear heading it...guess I need to speak with the higher powers about it (Jules/Laura) Let me know what you think....see, here I am trying to heal, and I am already at the gate waiting to take off running...Dr Pohl should have done bypass on my legs and brain.

Well, before I go volunteering to build a bridge that leads to nowhere...I am off to bed.
Sweet dreams!

Hey there Ruth!

Glad to see you're up and around and getting back to being yourself!

As for the welcoming committee...

That's what an Angel is all about. To guide you and stand beside you. Through thick and thin (literally).

Once I'm feeling better, I will be happy to pick up your shakes and bring them to you. But it probably won't be for a couple more days. I still feel really crappy. If I'm not really better by tomorrow, I'm going to my PCP.

Keep us posted on how you're doing, k?

Later alligator!

Jules
