Okay to take Robitussen???

Hey there Doodles!

I have this sinus / upper throat thing going on here! Sneezing, watery eyes. You know, that seasonal allergy crap.

I have been taking Sudafed and Claritin. Nothing helping. Not even Tylenol Sinus!

Is Robitussen okay to take? I'm four months out from RNY.

Drinking lots of Camomile tea and lying down, exhausted.

I feel like my head is going to splode-up!

Hey Jules,

   I  don't think it will hurt you to take it as long as there is not a lot of sugar in it.  You know sometime that stuff has a lot of sugar in them.  They might have a sugar free one.  If you need anything let me know be happy to bring it over. Will be in providence tomorrow at the hospital seeing my mom with Chip so don't be afraid to  call me on cell if you need something.

Because of my diabetes and high Bp, I typically take Scot Tussin...no sugar....They also make a pill form now, but I don't know how big it is....But I am sure they make the liquid, cos I have taken that for yrs...doesn't taste very good, but it works ok.

 Sorry to hear you aren't feeling well.  It's that time of year and many people that I have spoken to have the same symptoms.  Make sure you drink plenty of liquids and get all the rest you can.   You want to be well for Florida.  My daughter just left last night to  florida and she has the same. thing.  I think sometimes it just has to run it's coarse.  Meredith came home this weekend.  She looks great!  The first thing she said was Julie won't be there.  You are well loved by all!

Awwww! I love you gals! Thanks for the advice. The doc said it's okay to take the Robitussen because, at most, it'll only be a couple tablespoons every few hours so the sugar should not affect me.

Today I'm less feverish and still really tired but I've lost my voice almost entirely. I'm down to a whisper. If the kids were still livin' at home, they'd be grateful! Ha Ha

Karen, I really miss Mer! Please tell her hello, I love her to pieces and I'll see her again soon. Even if I have to drive to her college, I'll do it!  Hey, maybe we can plan a road-trip to see Meredith!
