Recovery Period ?
HI! i had lap-band surgery..so i can only go by my experience..but i believe it depends on what type of work you do..also how you personally react to the surgery itself. My doc wanted me out for the full 6 weeks due to the fact i am a school bus driver and work a lot w/ special needs student and little ones, which entails a lot of pushing and required lifting...I felt well enough to go back a lot sooner but of course had the lifting restriction so could not have performed my job properly.and the kids are more important then me being bored at home.. I go back Monday YEAH!! Take care and good luck. Kim
I am not even at that point yet to discuss it with my doctor- I still have to finish 2 more months of my diet...
I have a desk job with occasional heavy lifting - except I am the one who brings my children to their daycare (really grandpa's house) every morning because my husband leaves for work at 4 in the morning. My kids are 2 and 3 and I drive an SUV. I have to lift them into my vehicle... I wonder if that will be taken into consideration. There is no one else around to do that stuff for me. (can you tell I am in no rush to get back to work afterwards??)

I would say 4-6 weeks for a desk job that includes heavy lifting. Especially with children. My grandchildren are 1, 4 & 4. Just climbing on my lap was a painful situation until about 4 weeks out. Good luck!
