Unbilical Hernia

Has anyone had one of these post op.  Today I have this pain in my belly button and I cant even touch it.  I can feel a lump in there too.  If I do touch it it sends shivers through my whole body.  I am going to call Dr. Roye and see what he says.  Just wondering if anyone knows what it could be.

Hi Jen,

I haven't had an umbilical hernia post op. However, I think I have a hernia coming in below my breast bone. I had one there years ago that was repaired. It was worse when I got up from a lay position and when I coughed. I'd have to, literally, hold it in to keep it from popping out.

Let us know what Dr. Roye says. They can be very painful. Good luck!

Kathleen did not seem to worred about it.  She said to watch it and make sure it does not get bigger.  Also, if the pain increases I should have it looked at.  She said it could be a small one and we just have to keep an eye on it.  I have an appt. next month, so I am going to just address it then unless it becomes a problem sooner.
