Haven't even had surgery and it happened to me
OK, tomorrow I have to go on full liquids as it is the day before my surgery. Since I have been eating a Lean Cuisine every nite for the past two weeks, I asked my hubby if we could go out for dinner tonite, as my TRUE last supper before surgery. We decided to go to the 99 Restaurant. I went to calorielab.com to scope out the menu first, as I wanted to stay below 300 calories and still get some good protein. I found that they had a Jr Top Sirloin that was 220 calories and 30 grams of protein without any sides. Then I saw they had broccoli for 20 calories...that was my plan.
We got there, and the Jr Top Sirloin was on the kids menu, so I decided to order the adult menu item instead, planning to take the rest of it home to put in a sandwich for my hubby to take to work tomorrow for. I ordered the Top Sirloin, no potato and got broccoli with it. When the dinner came, I cut off a deck of cards size (the sirloin is 10 oz), and I ate like I had my band. I ate so slowly, I was the last to finish!!! Not like me at all.
Now, here's the kicker.....When the waitress came by to take our plates, she asked me with that wierd look "Was it ok?" and I could tell it was cos I only ate that 3 oz!!!!!! Ladies and Gentlemen who are post op, I GET IT!

I'm sure it will feel weird, but I'm ok with that...small price to pay (oh yeah, the other small price I paid was that my notril piercing closed up when I removed it for surgery....at least I have not been able to get the jewelry back in...a little bummed about it as it was my 44th b-day present 7 yrs ago....something I wanted for yrs, but my industrial piercing is still there so it's really a small price to pay. That one wold have been much harder to give up.)
Anyway, back to the eating...I won't have to worry about that for another month or so...but after that, I guess I will deal with it. Hopefully it will make me want to eat out less? Dunno?
