I"m FREAKING out!

I drank an airbourne this morning, but I think I am feeling better.  I just have some post nasal drip and it is not interfering with me spending the whole morning singing on that Rock Band game my son has.  So I am hoping for the best.  I am being SOO careful at that stupid daycare...but I always catch something when I am there.  I'm trying to think positively and wish anything bad away.

I think it's allergies...everyone I know it sneezing, wheezing and coughing.  I leave my windows open when I sleep and I wake up all stuffy.

If you have a scratchy throat  then I would think it;s a cold, but if you dont then it's probably allergies.  Thats how I know when i catch a cold or have allergies.  When I drink coffee for some reason, I feel better...the stuffiness goes away.  Hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck on your surgery.  I have seen you here for a long time and finally your surgery is coming up. I would just go, have it done and don't worry about a cold or whatever...you will be home before you know it and breathing just fine.  You also, maybe just getting very nervous about your surgery.

Exactly, my windows have been open all week, but also I was digging in the garden yesterday, both in my yard and in the URI Master Gardener's garden at the Cumberland Monastery, moving things around, and taking things out, deadheading and such.  I was hoping maybe that's what pushed me over into feeling lousy, cos I was when I got home from there.  I woke up around 4:30 this morning with a sore throat, but I took and Alavert and fixed a cup of lemon herbal tea,  and this morning it was gone, so maybe that was just some post nasal drip from yesterday.  I don't have it today.

Yes, Carol, I have been here for a LONG time.  I started this whole process on Valentine's Day, which is why I am freaking out about catching something this close to my day.  I am gonna do whatever I can to get that blasted surgery done and over with.  I am so ready to get on with  my life.  I feel like this has consumed me this entire year.

Hi Buddy,

I'd have to agree that it's probably allergies. My eyes are watering and itchy and I've had a sinus headache all week.

All I can say is...

                      Blue Tang

just keep sipping, just keep sipping, just keep sipping, sipping, sipping...what do we do? We sip sip......ah aha aha aha ah la la la

Drink lots of water to help flush your system!

If you notice it's going to your chest, call the office. K? Better safe than sorry.

I love you and I want you to stick around, k?

I'll be calling you this week!

Thanks my buddy, my friend!  But honestly, I am feeling better this afternoon.  Yesterday I felt kinda nasally and my throat was drippy, but today much better.  I think it IS allergies, but I will know more tomorrow when the weather breaks.  All this moisture is getting to me.

Don't worry, if it gets worse I will definitely call the doc, but I have high hopes that I am ok and will have my surgery in FIVE DAYS!!

Thanks Pam, yes I am feeling better.  I have a lot of stuff in the back of my throat in the morning, but after I am up a little while it goes away.  It really feels like allergies, because it goes away after about 10 am, and I am not feeling under the weather.  I just forgot I get fall allergies, more than the spring ones.  And working in the gardens on Sat must have stirred the pot.

I have to work this morning and again tomorrow, and tonite I am giving my sister a French manicure.  But after that, I can take a little more time for myself.

I swore I was coming down with something the week of my surgery as well.  Turned out to be just from the changes in the weather and allergies.  Hoping yours is the same.  Just be VERY careful with what you take at this point.  I know I was not allowed certain meds due to possibilites of increased bleeding

I'm pretty sure now that this IS allergies.  If it wasn't, I would be sick by now, but I am only dealing with post nasal drip causing a sore throat when I wake  up.  After I am up a while, it all goes away.  Yes, good point about the meds.  You mention that about the bleeding and I wondered why no one mentoned to me not to take the Aleve  I was taking for the pain in my torn rotator.  But I stopped it myself the day I started the diet.  Dr Pohl only told me to  stop my diabetes meds, and the anesthesiologist told me to only take my one BP med on the day of surgery.  Neither mentioned any of my other meds.  <>   I won't take anything more without calling the docs office tho.  Thanks for looking out for me.
