Thanks everyone! And a HUGE hug and kiss to my 2nd hubby! I actually tried to keep it low key today, and I ALMOST succeeded. Guy didnt remember and I wasnt going to say anything, but tonight my grandmother called and then read me the riot act because I wasnt going to remind him, in the end...SHE told him and the jig was up, so to speak.
So, since it was 7:00 and I was about to start dinner (late tonight!) we decided to go out instead. We went to India and it ended up being a great night. They had belly dancers performing tonight and one of them came and got Sierra took her around the room dancing with her. Afterward, the dancers came over to the table and talked to the kids and asked them all to come back up and dance with them if we were still there during the next performance. Of course, Sierra had such a great time and was so excited, that we had to wait around for the 30 minutes. All 3 of the kids, had a blast and it was so great to see them doing it, it made my night.
Oh, and in between performances, one of the kids told the belly dancer that we were there because of my birthday. Lo and behold a few minutes after that, the band starts singing happy Birthday and here comes our waiter with this big plate with a candle on it! The plate had 3 big scoops of mango ice cream, 2 full bananas sliced and laid out on the plate and the whole thing is drizzled in all different types of syrups with dried fruits and nuts sprinkled on it! It was like a very elegant banana split!! Needless to say, the kids had a blast with that. And I admit I snuck in 2 tiny little bites (OMG, it was awesome!) But that was enough to satisfy my curiosity and for me not to feel deprived. It was a nice dinner.
I have to mention one other thing about tonight that makes me smile about the belly dancers. They were not small women. All 3 of them were heavy set (Id say around 250) and all out there in the small costume showing their midsection, dancing around and having fun. They did not seem ashamed of their body, but moreso proud of it and I admire that so much! All of the people in the restaurant seemed to be enjoying it and I didnt hear anything negative said. I wish I were more like that!
Angela!
How fun! I can just picture your princesses up there dancing away. And Connor must have been giggling up a storm up there dancing!
What a wonderful memory!
Love ya!
