Ok, so i went for my intial consultation about 3 weeks ago. At the end of the appt w/ DR V. Meagan told me that it takes about 2 weeks to schedule all of the appts and that i'd get something in the mail around that time with all my dates and times. Well i haven't gotten anything yet and i called a couple days ago and she said that she hadn't been able to schedule any appts yet and that i'd be hearing from her. I'm getting frustrated  is this how it usually works? Has anyone had Dr. V, whats the time frame like after initial consultation?

I do not see Dr V, I see Dr Pohl, and he does things differently.  He requires the seminar,  where he gave out a list of all the tests I would need and I scheduled those myself.  I had all my tests completed before I saw him the first time, which was 2 months after I attended the seminar.      I had some added twists and turns dealing with my insurance requirements, so my experience may not be average, but I attended the seminar on Valentine's Day, and I see Dr P for my second visit this week.  I hope to get my surgery date then.   I completely understand your frustration.  This is not a quick process at all, so a little deep breathing may be in order.   Try not to let it get to you this early in the game.  In any event, we are all here for you when you feel the need to vent.

I also see Dr. Pohl.  I went to the manditory Seminar in July, had my first appointment in September, had my second in October and had my surgery done in November.  It is not a quick process, but it is worth the wait!

I am so not good at waiting... I'm like stalking their office. LOL I call them like once a week! I wish i could make my appts. I feel like i'm just sitting around twiddliing my thumbs when i could be doing something. Thanks for your replies.

I highly advise you continuing to stalk them.  It keeps you in the front of the pile and they are definitely apt to get to you quicker.  Good luck!!

Hi,

Dr. Sax is my surgeon.  He works with Dr. V.  It has been 3 months since my initial visit with Dr. Sax.  I've now had all of my pre-tests (probably a few more than most people are required to have because of prior DVT/PE) and I had my 2nd consult with him last Friday.  His office assistant, Jodi, said I will hear from her today about a date for lap band surgery.  She expects it to be the 2nd or 3rd week of September.  Both Meagan and Jodi are very good about getting back with the patients.  I'd call and follow up again.  You know what they say... the squeaky wheel gets oiled first!

Hope all goes well with scheduling your pre-tests!

I also had Pohl too.  I went to the Sem. in Nov Saw him in Jan.  Did most of the testing before I saw him.  finished up the rest of the testing in Feb then surgery was in april  Like the other girl said take time but the wait is worth it. .

I am in the same boat. I also had the initial with dr V. on 7/31.....I am also still waiting for Meagan to get back to me with the scheduled appt's. I spoke to her and she told me she was way behind because she was on vacation. I will call back this week.....I am trying to be very patient, but it is not my strong point! LOL. Good luck to us all!
