Sometimes you have to look forward and never look back

well i just felt the need to tell everone a little bit of what has been going on with me. I had my band on 051807 and have had problems since day 1. vomiting, PBing, unable to eat. I lost around 40lbs initially but have slowly put almost all back on. I had several upper Gi's but no slippage. So finally on July 21 Dr G told me it had to come out. I was floored. I have to take it out and have nothing or convert to bypass. So I have begun the 'revision process'. Back to the psychiatrist who told me 6 months of therapy and they will approve me. Back to the nutritionist who will also guide me through and after the revision. well i learned a WHOLE lot about what i want since my visit with Dr G. I had decided that I was going to go out with a bang and try my hardest to work with the band so that I would have no regrets after the revision surgery. So I went back on my preop diet and kicked up my exercise. Since July 21 I have vomited 2x ( as opposed to 3-4x week) and I have lost 10lbs. I am still continuing on the path toward revision but I am not giving up on my band just yet. I have an endoscopy August 22 and if my band/belly is OK I will keep everything status quo. As long as I don't get sick, eat enough protein, exercise more...I am going to try to not have the revision but I at least know that if it IS the band and not ME I have another mechanism to help...Just wanted to tell everone. Has anyone else ever been in the same position I was in? Let me know how it worked out.

How awful to have had to go through all of this.  You have an amazing attitude still and I love that you are going for one last try with the band.  I have had no issues with mine- other than no restriction after 2 fills.  I wish you all the best with this revision and I hope that will be the answer for you- no more health issues!!
