what now
Lisa
My inital consult was in November. I got my packet in the mail with the required tests about 3 weeks later. A few tests had been scheduled for me, but most I had to call for myself. The ones that took the longest to schedule were the sleep study, the psych eval and the nutritionist. I probably waited a few weeks to call because of the holidays. I got all of my apts done probably the end of Feb, waited to see Dr Roye in mid March, and got my surgery date that day- scheduled for 10 days later. Dr V sounds like he does the testing like Dr Roye. I think the worst part was just waiting to get the apt times.
In the meantime- there are some great support groups to go to with lots of info. Dr V attends the one at Miriam and they also have the 1st 1/2 hour as a mini Lapband only support group- which I really like. It meets on the fourth Tuesday of every month 5:30-7:30 with from 5:30-6:00 being Lapband only. RI Hospital meets the first Weds of each month in the Gerry House building from 6:15-8:00 pm. Roger Williams also has a support group meeting on the fourth Thursday of the month (I think at 6pm- but I am sure someone will help me out here)
Good luck!
Hi!
I went to Dr. Pohl's seminar on Feb 14th.
Had my first appt with him on March 31st.
I had already had all my required appts done within that time except my endoscopy (which was scheduled by his office within a week).
My second appt was May 15th (after they received my insurance approval).
I received my surgery date a few days later and had my surgery on June 4th!
I'm 8 weeks out and happy as a clam!
I don't know what the wait is for your doc. Obviously, if there's vacation time in there as well, it's gonna take more time. I think it's probably safe to assume that you'll have your surgery date by October if you get all your required appts done promptly.
Good Luck!
Jules
