Did anyone see a surgeon without a referral?

I am filling out the form for Dr Roye and there is a space for a pcp and referring physician...  i am just wondering if anyone did not have a referring physician...

My pcp did refer me to Dr. Roye when I inquired about WLS - but my insurance (BC of RI - Healthmate) does not require a pcp referral.  If you have an HMO insurance, chances are you will need one - but with most PPO plans you do not.

I have a ppo and do not need referrals for insurance purposes but I was not sure if Dr. Roye required one...

I didn't have a referral, I called on my own after doing research and had no problem with appointments or approvals.

I have Tricare Prime military insurance and need a referral for EVERYthing!

I would suggest calling your insurance company and asking them if they require a referral!
