PS recommendation anyone?

I did just post this on the plastic surgery forum, but thought maybe checking in at the home forum would be helpful too.
I'm looking for some advice regarding finding a local  plastic surgeon.
Long story short- I had been scheduled on July 9 for PS with Dr. Borud, but had to cancel due to my mom becoming seriously ill. So I planned to wait until next June (I'm a teacher) to get the surgeries done. Now I found out on Thursday that I need to have a hysterectomy, so I figure, might as well get some ps done at the same time and make it worth while. Only problem is, Dr. Borud is out on personal leave for three months, which leaves me looking for another PS.  So, here I am, looking for advice. I'm sort of in a rush because I only have three weeks of school vacation left and was told recovery for the hysterectomy would be 6 weeks. Which has me out of work the first few weeks of school (I'm thinking that's not going to go over very big!). Ugh! Kinda feeling a bit overwhelmed right now.

Hey Pam,

Sounds like you are dealing with a lot.  I haven't been to see or really done any research on any of these PS.  But I got the names from my doctor.  Let me know how you make out.

Dr Antoniuk - 274-2840
Dr Palmondon - 274-6602
Dr Liv & Dr Doyle - 456-2440

Good luck...

Thanks Danielle. I have had a consult in the past with Dr.Antoniuk, she is very nice. The other two I have never heard of. I did schedule a consult with Dr.Zeinowicz for August, he is across the hall from Dr.Roye. I will check out the other two docs. Thanks for the info.

Pam:

This is my first message -- been lurking for a bit.  I've got to put in a good word for Dr. Z.  He did a miracle job on reconstructing a friend's hand that the friend put through a plate glass window.  His manner is generally understanding and sympathetic.  I've seen some people write that he's got an ego, but I think we all do.  I wouldn't hesitate to have him work on me.

Good luck with the consult.  I'll be curious to hear how you make out.

Guess I'm officially no longer a lurker, huh?

Hi Debbie,

Welcome! This is a great site. I'm curious why you were "lurking" (hee hee).
Thanks for the info. I was able to get a consult with Dr. Z., while I found him to be rather mellow and gentle in his manner, as well as quite accommodating, and the two staff members I dealt with were very pleasant, I have not had the same experience with some of his other office staff I spoke with on the phone, who were rather curt and made me feel like I was putting them out, or wasting their precious time. Thankfully, they don't do the surgery! It's unfortunate, because I feel rather vunerable in attempting to traverse the ins and outs of plastic surgery.

In the end, I just hope you end up with the best surgeon -- staff aside.

My best,
Debbie
