I am anxiously awaiting Thursdays arrival - I have been since last week!!!

Thursday is when Dr. Pohl has his seminar and I am so anxious to get this ball rolling.  Thank god I called to find out when the next seminar was because I would HATE to wait a month!!

I have found myself fantasizing about getting WLS and cannot wait for it to become real!

I have been dieting - 1000 cal a day.  It is hard but I have done well.  I also find myself chewing thirty times in preparation for life after WLS - it is hard!!!

Good luck at the seminar! It's very informative and really worth it! This will be the beginning of the rest of your life!

Good luck!  Be sure to bring something to drink.  They have a lot of issues with the air conditioner in the auditorium and the meeting is long long long.

Glad you are catching the seminar in time this month!

Don't be afraid to ask questions when it's time for Q&A at the end.

Remember, you have to be there for the whole seminar then sign the form at the end of it or you won't be able to make an appt with Dr. Pohl or Dr. Giovanni!

Also, get there at least a half hour early so you can get a good seat up front! Sometimes there is standing-room-only! Be prepared to be there until around 9:30 PM.

Good Luck!

Jules

P.S. A notebook and pen is always handy

OK so I am dumb and bumming... it was LAST WEEK... when I called his office they told me -next thursday (this was last week) so I assumed it was yesterday... well no it wsa the 10th of course I should have counted the thursdays in the month!!

I am so bummed... I actually had tears.  My husband was like - there is always next month - but he doesn't understand that I do not want to wait a whole month to start this process - it just sucks... I am going to call Dr. Roye's office to see what I have to do.  I was not set on either surgeon - just either roye or pohl because that is who a dr recommended to me.

I kept missing the seminars also, and had not completely decided on a surgeon, other than Lapband.com had only Dr Pohl listed and his seminars.
My pcp finally recommended Dr Roye, I looked him up- and LOVE him.

People have wonderful things to say about both Drs and I think either way is a good choice

Oh Crap!

I'm sorry. I know the seminar for Dr. Pohl is the second Thursday of the month. I wasn't thinking when I posted earlier.

HOWEVER...you can still join us at the Roger Williams support group this Thursday! It's very informative and you can meet several people who have had different surgeons. I hope you come!

It starts promptly at 6 and end promptly at 7:30 but a bunch of us usually hang out there after chatting for a while!

AND the Miriam Hospital meeting in Tuesday! 5:30-6:00 is the LabBand meeting. 6:00 starts the 'everyone' meeting!

Feel free to bring a guest with you to the meetings as well!

BTW, you HAVE ALREADY started the process. Just by seeking info and doing the footwork to get to the seminar, you've started the journey.

As much as my husband is supportive, he doesn't 'really' know what I go through. That's why I come here and go to all the area support group meetings.

I hope to see you there!

Jules

I will try to make it... I work full time and have two kids, 3 and 1.5 so I need to see if I can have someone watch them if my hubby is not home from work yet...

Thanks for ALL the info!
