I was told that i can get TDI when i have my lap-band surgery in august ,,Dr Giovanni told me ahead of time so i would be able to get the paperwork .. Kim

If you work in the state of RI and contribute to TDI - you should definately be eligible to receive it for WLS.  The stipulation is that you have to be "disabled" out of work for at least 5 days.   Pam

Sorry so late on this reply.  I was on vacation last week. 

Yes, if you work in RI and pay into TDI, then definately put in for it.  If you are out for 30 days or more.......you will end up getting the first week waiting period back too.    Put in for it as soon as you get home from the hospital.   You can do it directly on line and get it deposited into your checking account.

But don't get discouraged, it takes 3-4 weeks before you see any money from them, then they dump a lump sum in there and its weekly after that.  Keep on top of it as far as your doctors office faxing the paperwork to TDI.   Its definately worth the aggrivation you go thru to get it.
