New to the Board and Introducing myself.

Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself to the board. I have been lurking around for a while and have commented a couple of time but I would like to introduce myself and hopefully make some new friends. A lil bit about me! At first I was hoping to get the Lap Band and that might still be the case but as of right now I started with the Optifast full fasting plan on 6/30/2003. My starting weight is 313 lbs. My first goal is to get below 300 but my ultimate goal is to get down to 180lbs. I am very motivated with this weight loss and I hope that my feeling stay the same. I have not really been hungry since I started but I am "craving" some food. I did find the need to "lick" a dorito, but after that my craving went away. The only thing I am finding really hard is the fact that I still have to cook for my husband and 3 kids so there are some temptations but I am learning to deal with it.

Hey Maud!

 Enter

Welcome to your new Home-Away-From-Home! I totally understand the 'licking' thing. When I was on my pre-op diet and when was first pre-op and on the clear liquid diet, all I wanted to do was lick a steak!

I have to cook for my hubby, 20 year old son, 17 year old daughter, 27 year old x-daughter-in-law and my 4 year old grandson. What a deal! It's tough so I try to eat right before I cook and I constantly drink my water while I'm cooking. And a bit of Patsy Cline singing in the background doesn't hurt either!   It seems to make it more bearable.

Again, welcome.....

Glad you're here!

Hi Maud,  Welcome the board and I apologize for taking so long to respond! Whatever you choose I'm sure that you'll do great and dont worry too much about the challenges about cooking, I have a hubby and 3 kids to cook for too (ages 4,6,7 so they LOVE junk) and it will be a lot easier than you think.  Best of luck to you!
