I dont know what to do

I am so frustrated. I just dont know what to do. I had my Band placed in May 07 and I have had nothing but issues. I initially lost 40 lbs but due to constant vomiting I have gained back much of what I lost and as of Monday I am only down 14lbs. I am so frustrated with it. I try to do my best eating the right foods, I even went back on the preop diet and I still didn't lose any weight. I have had 2 UGI's to see if it has slipped, the latter one being this morning. The Xray tech said no signs of slippage, yet I continue to wretch nearly every other meal and I only have 1cc in my band.  Even Dr G thought it might have been intermittent slippage but again no answers. I just want to cry. I just don't know why I can eat a salad today but not tomorrow. I googled lap band failures and I was reading some of the reasons why people had to have their band removed and my symptoms are so similar. I am scared to death of  bypass, which was why i opted for the band, but i think i made the wrong decision. Please give me some advise or information....

Rhonda -  I've re-read your post a couple of times... I'm curious as to how you are gaining if you are constantly vomiting?  Are you able to get/ keep any food in?  Has the doctor had your thyroid checked?  I don't know alot about thyroid condition - but I was told that you can gain weight very easily with an underactive thyroid. Hi Rhonda, wow, sorry about all the trouble you are having.  I also had the band with Dr Giovanni.  My surgery was 11/27/07.  I've only had one fill and that was last month.  I know I need another fill because I feel very little if any restriction.  I know that at times when I overeat I get sick.  Maybe you are eating a bit more than your pouch wants.  I know I'll look at what's on my plate and think it's not a lot, but some days, it seems that the pouch thinks so.  This is just an idea.  I'm not implying that I think you are eating too much - everyone is different.  It's just a thought.  Good luck...Jules

Rhonda, I am so sorry you are having trouble.  I am sure everyone has been over this and it might not be good advice.  Besides taking small bites and chew chew chewing.  I also have to eat slow slow slow.  I find that if I am not hydrated that I am very tight.  I hope this works out for you.  I couldn't not try to give you advice - but I certainly do not have all the answers.
