Well I did it!!! i had NO problems at all!! Everything is going well...some pain and gas!! I almost chickened out right there in the hospital. I was very nervous. I'm glad they gave me a little juice and I calmed down. I am getting in my fluids..Tried the Isopure low carb EEEWWWWWWW Nasty is all I have to say. I have to find another way to get my protiens in. I feel very weird but I'm sure it is normal. I have no desire to drink anything so I am kind of forcing myself which is making my stomach un easy. Talk to ya all soon. Jaime

Hey Jaime!

I forgot you weren't being banded on the first! I'm so sorry I failed to wish you well!

What flavor Isopure did you try? At this point, the only one I like and drink is the bottles of Apple Melon!

If you get on www.vitalady.com you can order samples of all kinds of protein supplements for about $1.99 each. So worth it!

The next sample I'm trying is the Nectar Apple Ecstacy Apple 2 !

Welcome home! I'm so glad to hear you're doing well!

Hi Jamie Glad to hear you are doing well.  I thought I was going to chicken out at the hospital too.  They gave me something in my IV to take the edge off - which was kind like the equivalent of a few drinks for me, so it was smooth sailing after that! I had a very hard time getting the fluid in at first.  I found that drinking on a schedule really helped train me in the beginning.  I am still doing it now so that I get all my fluid, protein and meals in. I was very tired for about five days - a combination of very little calories, not much protein and the anesthesia.  After five days I felt like myself again.  So glad to hear your doing well.  Let me know if there are any questions I can answer for you!!

Hi Jamie!  I'm happy everything went smoothly for you!  Congrats and welcome to the loser's bench!  I stuck with Atkins Advantage shakes because those were the only ones I could tolerate and it took me so long to drink one shake.  Looking back, I should have poured only 1-2 oz at a time and kept the rest in the fridge because once that stuff gets warm, it surely isn't as good.  I found the chocolate royale the best.  Once you get to have softs, try the vanilla, some vanilla extract and a small banana in the blender.  It helped me with leg cramps as well.  Good luck!  I'm also a bandster so if you have any questions, please feel free to ask and I'll try to help. Hey Jaime... glad all went well for you. Just keep trying different portein drinks.. you will find something you like. I actually drank carnation most often and the mixes from Dr. P's office... but some people hate those.  BTW... I was talking to your neighbor.. Dawn last night. Take care of yourself...

Thanks for all your support. It is getting a easier to drink. Still having problems with the protein. Nut says carnation instant sugar free. Only 5 grams of protien per serving. Any other suggestions for protien? Thanks

Congrats Jaime!!!!  Honestly- the only way I could get my protein in for the first few weeks, was the GNC unflavored whey protein in a bag.  I mixed it in my crystal light and sipped all day.  I found (and still do) all protein mixes too heavy, too gritty, or too sweet. Good luck!!
