Hi Lisa! I was banded in October 07, I'll tell you it is the best thing that I could have ever done for myself! Everyday I feel younger, fresher and healthier! Try not to focus too much of your energy on the "what's if's". Maintain a positive outlook, and you will have positive results! Don't get me wrong, I was scared too, I still get scared sometimes, but i'll tell you the surgeons and the follow up care with most surgeons is A-1 quality! As far as that broth...College Inn makes flavored chicken broths, Garlic and Herb, Vegetable, etc. Check it out in the soup aisle at the market. Boulin is okay, but VERY high in sodium. a new healthy way of eating should include taking a look at intake levels of certain things, especially sodium. (Makes you retain water and fluid) But keep asking questions. The RI board is a VERY friendly, kind and supportive bunch. They've helped me through a few ups and downs. And feel free to message me anytime, it might take me a little while to reply, but I'll get back to you !! Good luck and Hope to hear from you!!

HI Lisa,
You can walk out of your door tomorrow and get hit by a car (god forbid) - but does that mean you don't leave your house. No, you take percautions and look both ways. Well you have been looking since 2006 and now is the time to start walking....and implementing all the things you have learned. The broth I ate was from bullion cubes either way is fine really.
Good luck and feel free to chat over here on the RI board any time.
Hi Lisa,
I had surgery two weeks ago and towards the end I was so scared. I worried myself so sick in the couple of days before the surgery. Everything went fine. The pain was not that bad at all. They give you all the meds you need in the hospital for pain and when I got home I felt pretty good. I had a harder time getting the anesthesia out of my system than actually being in pain. I felt almost normal about 5 days out of surgery. Two weeks out it is like it never happened.
You will be fine!
I ate my own chicken stock that I made and just strained all the chicken and veggies from it. I saved those to eat in the mush stage.
Best of luck and don't be a stranger!!!
